“Don’t Wys” – Which is slang for “don’t tell me what to do” – was inspired by the desire to be heard instead of being told what to do and how to do it. As artists we often struggle with writing, sound, image, etc as we’re always considering other’s opinions . The song encourages people to find their own voice and block out the noise. Advice or constructive criticism is good, however it is not always the gospel. Be rebellious, be you. And do what makes your soul smile. Remember, not everything is meant for everyone.
